Origin and meaning of Tango :
The Argentine Tango was born on horseback in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is the Belle époque that gives Tango a chance. Buenos Aires imitates the fashions of Paris and there, in 1915, Tango is danced for the first time in the Palais de Glace.
This is how we finally accept this dance which today is identified all over the world.
It is in 1917 that Tango triumphs with Carlos Gardel in the old theater “Esmeralda” of Buenos Aires, today “Maipo”, with the tango “Mi Noche Triste”.
Like different styles of dance, Tango can require choreography, just as it can be danced with a stranger. The woman lets herself be guided and follows the man’s movements.
Tango, a dance of character, is at the beginning defined as “a sad thought danced”. This must be because tango reflects the passage of time, nostalgia, friendship and, of course, love. Tango is melancholy and nostalgic. It represents life itself.
The rhythms of Tango :
Depending on the music, and in dance in particular, the tempo of tango varies. We can say that the rhythm of tango, in popular slang, is 2/4 (two times four). This is the most common tango rhythm, although experts speak of a 4/4 (four out of four) for personal use.
The most important thing to be a good tango player is to “walk the tango”. This means dancing inside the compass.
There are a number of elements and movements that are typical of tango from which tricks and choreography are created.

To dance Tango is to be coordinated through a container, to know how to dance with a stranger or to dance with your partner. To dance Tango is to be able to have your eyes completely closed and let yourself be guided by the rhythm and tempo variations throughout the music.
Different ways to dance Tango?
With the specialized teachers of DanceAllStyles, progress with private Tango lessons, at your own pace and reaching your goals. Of course, while having fun and enjoying yourself!
There are two ways to dance Tango: walking or doing tricks.
In other words, there are two types of tango depending on how they are danced.
The tango that is most often danced in milongas. The couple dances with the upper part of the body glued to their partner’s body. Basically, it is about dancing counter-clockwise, as in all movement dances, walking to the rhythm of the music and keeping the walk, eights, ornaments and fairly simple tricks.
In private Tango lessons, choose the style of Tango that suits you best and that you enjoy the most.
A closed tango is a tango that is danced internally. It isolates itself from the outside and focuses on the music and the couple.
“Feel the music and improvise as you feel it” is the philosophy of dancing tango. The girl, regardless of her space and time, must constantly follow the boy’s lead, which is not easy, as he constantly improvises his steps. That is why it is mandatory to dance very closely.
The mark must be above all, not only with the hands. The first thing to learn in this dance is to guide with the torso. The boy indicates the movements and steps to the girl with his own movement, i.e. his torso. This does not prevent the use of hands, arms and even legs to mark.
Tango with figures?
Tango with figures is the one that is usually danced in the ballroom when we talk about Tango. It is also the one that is usually taught in most dance classes.
The structure is similar to other dances, mixing basic steps and tricks. The basic step is done constantly, and the tricks that the couple can perform are intertwined. Marks and directions are usually done with the hands and arms. There is constant contact so that you know when to do a figure.
This tango is less significant than walking, but more spectacular and impressive to see. The tango with well done and applied, danced by professionals, even becomes a magnificent show.
