Learning how to dance with private waltz classes means progressing up to 4 times faster than in a group class.
The dance style of the waltz :
Waltz is one of the most popular ballroom dance styles in the world. Known for its gentle and graceful style, it is a genre that, despite what one might think, is not so easy to learn and master. A mix of steps and slides, imagine yourself on an ice rink. Thanks to their teaching methods, our partner teachers will know how to make you become a good waltzer in no time at all!
Waltz is an internationally recognizable style of dance. It is an excellent choice for people who want to work on their balance, posture and control.
It is also a favorite dance for a First dance. Indeed, the floating movement enhances the romantic side of the dance. By participating in a private class, we will teach you how to use different variations. The waltz brings a sense of elegance and peace, a symbol of the future that the newlyweds will share.
The partner teachers and professional dancers of DanceAllStyles are experienced in their respective fields. They offer waltz classes for all levels. From beginners to experienced dancers; whether you are alone or as a couple.

History of the waltz :
Although considered today as one of the most beautiful and tasteful dances, the Waltz has a surprising history of scandal and controversy.
The sound of Tchaikovsky’s “Waltz of the Flowers” has become a classic standard. This music, a family favorite, began as a dance of rebellion.
It all began in the early 1700s. The waltz was mainly practiced in rural farming communities in Europe, especially in the Bavarian region. As the Waltz grew in popularity, some members were shocked by the intimate embrace and considered the dance immoral simply because the man had to wrap his arm around his partner’s waist.
At the time, Waltz was embraced by teenagers and despised by parents. When the Waltz was first heard and seen in Vienna’s ballrooms, it caused a scandal and marked a decisive change in European social customs.
Eventually, Waltz found its way into the ballrooms and dance halls of German high society, although until 1825 it was still officially called “indecent”.
Origins of the Waltz :
The origins of the dance are most likely humble.
Its name comes from walzen – “to turn” in German – and may have developed from the folk music of the West Tyrol region of Austria (although some authors associate its choreography with the volta, a 16th century couple’s dance).
Whatever its exact origin, by the late 1700s the waltz had spread throughout Europe. The craze for the dance was particularly popular among the rich middle-class youth, a perfect expression of a new confident bourgeoisie, who were abandoning the aristocratic customs of their elders.
